Becoming a Deacon

The purpose of this section of the website is to provide information about the practical reality of Diaconate Formation. I hope that in the future, this will be an interactive site where we can gather information from those Deacons who wish to share their experience. This portion of the site is still under construction and your comments on what you would like to see here are welcomed at jmoscona@ctk-lsu.org. If you send an e-mail, please let me know if it can be posted here on the website. I also will be posting my book soon here for sale at a nominal fee. Here is an excerpt from the introduction to, BECOMING A DEACON, by Deacon Jodi:

“Before I get into the real substance of this book, I want to put it into context. It is January, 2007. I was ordained a permanent deacon on June 3, 2006. The reason for writing this book at this time is because the experience is so fresh and the reality of the change of life so real that I think it is in the best interest of all those discerning the Diaconate to have the benefit of the experience of someone who has just experienced the “process” . For me the process lasted seven years. However the spiritual growth, maturity and development will never end. Well, not until the Lord calls me home.”
